Prenatal Chiropractic

You are doing great Mama!  Your body is changing every day to make room for your growing little bundle of joy!  Aspire Chiropractic is passionate about treating you through your pregnancy journey while still providing care for the entire family. During pregnancy, you may experience changes in your body. Chiropractic care may benefit you by helping the body adapt to these changes by relieving symptoms caused by stretching ligaments or joint changes.

An expecting mom may experience:

  • Changes in posture due to your center of gravity shifting. This may lead to headaches or lower back pain.
  • Sciatic or pelvic pain from the soft tissues that support your growing baby.
  • Relaxin loosens the joints which increases mobility but may cause discomfort.
  • Your growing belly places a forward and downward pull on the lower back which may cause pain.
  • Hip pain may be caused by your muscles tightening and also your modified walking with pregnancy.

Acupuncture may be performed for morning sickness, better sleep or to induce labor contractions.

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

The pelvic floor focuses on the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and facia of the pelvic girdle. The muscles of the pelvic floor connect to the pelvis and sacrum acting like a sling to support your pelvic organs, providing stability for the lumbo-pelvic and hip joints. During pregnancy, the weight of the baby as well of the pressure from labor and delivery may cause an injury or weakness to the pelvic floor muscles.

You may experience:

  • Lower Back, Pelvis and Hip Pain
  • Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction
  • Coccydynia (tailbone pain)
  • Diastasis Recti (split abdominal muscles) due to weakened core muscles
  • Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (pubic bone pain)
